Search the web and use pages

Give a URL or a search goal, and let Memmy read pages and return results with sources.

To look up a product, compare options, or organize a web page, give Memmy the question or the URL. When the page needs an existing sign-in, connect a supported browser first.

Connect Chrome or Edge

  1. In Memmy, open Settings → Computer use and find Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  2. Choose Install. Follow the guide to turn on the browser’s developer mode, then drag the Memmy extension onto the extensions page.
  3. Back in Memmy, when you see Connected. Memmy can use web pages in this browser., say in the chat which page to work on.
Find both browsers in Settings → Computer use. In the picture, Chrome’s extension is not installed, so choose Install. Edge cannot be read yet; choose Manage to check it in the browser.

Below, try Install and Watch demo, or switch to the connected state. This preview is a placeholder of the current interface.

Expand the install steps or play the in-app drag demo. Finish the real install in the Memmy desktop app. This preview still uses a placeholder layout.

If it says Installed. Open the browser to connect., open that browser. If the extension is disabled, enable it on the browser’s extensions page. A managed work computer may block extension installs. If you cannot finish, use the built-in browser for sites you are allowed to open.

Start with a specific question

If the page is already open, provide the URL, or use Copy tab reference in the browser panel to add the current page to the request. Saying which part to read cuts down unrelated browsing.

Use the built-in browser

Memmy can open pages in the workbench browser panel. Use the address bar, tabs, and the back and forward buttons to see the current page. If a page needs a sign-in or a manual step, finish that prompt first, then tell Memmy to continue.

The page and URL are samples. The chat on the left is the task above; the built-in browser on the right has that page open.

Permissions for visiting pages, filling forms, and downloading are managed in the browser settings. Before you allow something, read the target site and the action it is asking for.

Check sources and downloads

Ask for source links, and check the publish date, the original wording, and any conditions. A sign-in, a paywall, or a permission limit in the browser can block the page. Provide another source you can open, then continue.

In the browser settings you can view or change Download location, or ask every time before a download is saved. After a download finishes, open the file and check the contents.
