Use and preview files
Preview a file the task generated, and keep revising it in the original task.
Open a generated file
Choose the file card under the reply, or a file link in the text. A file that can be previewed opens in the side panel. Several files become several tabs. Choose a tab to switch, and × to close the preview.
The same list is shown below as Markdown and CSV:
Click a file card to switch the full-window picture.
Two buttons at the top right of the preview are used often:
- Open with default app: open the file in an app on this computer.
- Show in folder: reveal the file in the system file manager so you can see where it was saved.
After a full-screen view, choose Exit full screen at the top right to return to the chat and side panel.
Preview a PPTX
A .pptx file can be previewed in the side panel without the Office plugin. After the slides open, the toolbar has the page number, Zoom out, Zoom in, and Fit width. You can also search in the file. If it says some slide elements cannot be shown completely, choose Open with default app to see the original file.
Built-in preview only shows a file that already exists. To create or revise a Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF file from your material, use the Office plugin.
See results and the original material
Choose the list icon, Overview, at the top left of the side panel. The panel lists Artifacts first, so you can reopen files the task delivered.
To browse the project’s original material, open the Overview menu in that panel, switch to Workspace files, and choose a file name.
Revise the generated file
In the original task, say what to change and whether to overwrite the file or save a new one. For example:
A file will not open, or there is no preview
- If it says the file was moved, deleted, or cannot be accessed, confirm it is still in the same place, then choose Retry.
- If the format is unsupported or the file is large, choose Open with default app.
- If a generated file still will not open, send the file name and the error in the original task and ask Memmy to check it and generate it again.
To create or revise a Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF file from your material, install the Office plugin. To look at a file that already exists, use the built-in preview above.
